Awakening from your delicious slumber, looking luscious and sexy on Valentines morning, you may catch a glimpse of the glorious Leo Full moon - at it's peak on the 13th at 2.23am but the dark skies will be illuminated for a while for us to bask like the Lion in this powerful fiery energy.
So allow yourself to roll over and enjoy this energy for a little bit longer, either on your own or with your loved one.. as it is all about Self Love and Self Acceptance..
OK let's be real ...
I more than likely will awake with dried drool, eye snot and probably fart a little before I roll over, remember my lover is there and then try seduce him with my morning breathe.. to which the dogs will shortly jump all over us, probably land on his balls and I'll lose my shit and our beautiful romantic day will begin.. Bliss right xx hahahahaha
But let's talk about it!
Valentines - you either love it, hate it or think it's the most biggest bullshit marketing thing the world. And too right, BUT - why not have a moment to jump onboard this love and romantic celebration and fill the day with LOVE because you choose too.
Pope Gelasius I established the feast day in 496 AD to replace a pagan practice, the holiday was originally intended to replace the Roman festival of Lupercalia, a fertility ritual that took place in mid-February. (So sexy time was established way back then...)
Popular legend suggests that St. Valentine was executed on February 14 for secretly performing marriages to prevent husbands from being sent to war, defying the orders of Roman Emperor Claudius II. He is also believed to have delivered letters in secret to lovers separated by the system and thrown in jail. (What a Fricken love hero!)
Additionally, in Roman mythology, Cupid, the angel of love, is the son of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. His bow and arrow symbolise piercing hearts and casting the spell of love. Over time, Cupid has became a popular symbol of Valentine's Day, reinforcing the festival's association with romance and affection. (Cute.. but do you need a bucket?)
So a little bit spicy, a lil bit naughty and lil bit of Greek Mythology cheese.. whatever..
BUT we have a Full moon to make it a lil more Dramatic!
The Full moon is guaranteed to bring up questions like, Is it ok to be Selfish? Who do I connect with? Who can I count on? Who will be there for me? What am I passionate about? What sets my heart on fire? How can I use my creativity to show my True self?
The Leo moon acts from a place of ego and power and uses both to gain success. It will push you to press pause and have a hard think about what it is that you really want.
In everything... in your self and in others...This isn't a bad thing, this can be a great way to reboot your relationships and your life.
Self love is about making sure you're not going around saying YES, to the things you want to say NO to, and about honoring that you should be a priority in your life. F*cK Yes!
Just remember we don't need to be an asshole about it though.. and once you have it figured all out you’ll feel inspired and ready to go after the new goals you’ve set for yourself, whether it’s in your health, career, or relationships.
So going back to Valentine's maybe this is the perfect week to have those beautiful conversations with yourself, to remind you of the importance of being connected to your True Self. What does your heart truly desire? How can you honor yourself more and learn to nurture your heart and dreams? and if you find yourself sitting there with a sacred soul that lights that flame in your heart and accepts you unconditionally for all your fiery flaws - use this day to tell them wholeheartedly and declare that LOVE with cupids bow, right in their balls :)
Beck xx
